<b><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">ECHO SHAPE IMPROVISATION SWEATSHIRT JACKET</span></b></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Join Jennifer Bernard on Sunday, September</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">16th at 1pm at Lutheran Church of the Cross for</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">an afternoon of creative fun turning a sweatshirt</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">into a fun jacket. You will be altering a sweatshirt</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">to to open down the front, bias bind the</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">edges, and extend the edge of the sweatshirt with</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">piecing. You will choose from 4 shapes — a</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">heart, a leaf, flower, or square, then cut them out</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">as smaller and smaller echoes, scatter them creatively</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">over the sweatshirt and fuse in place. The</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">edges of the shapes will need to be buttonhole</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">stitched or zigzagged. (The technique will be</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">demonstrated in class, but you will not be able to</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">to finish all the stitching in the afternoon workshop.)</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Rickrack, bias stems, and button can be</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">added for more improvisation! You will learn to</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">make pockets from from the shapes and add</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">cuffs to the sleeves, and also how to get a better</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">fit to those boxy sweatshirts.</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This jacket does not have a written pattern, so if</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">you want to create a unique improvised jacket</span> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">come join in the fun at the workshop.</span><br />
